About Me
I’m James Geercke, the founder of Frozen Breath – and yep, I really do run barefoot and sit in the ice for fun! As a veteran, I understand stress, pressure, and what it means to operate in high-demand environments where mistakes can be deadly. I’ve also lived through physical injury, chronic pain, trauma, and addiction. I know what it’s like to hit rock bottom and rebuild from the ground up.
Along the way, I faced the trauma of military service head on, giving evidence to the Royal Commission Into Defence and Veterans Suicide to help shed light on the hidden cost of service (Watch the hearing here - warning: some may find this video distressing).
My work sits at the intersection of performance, recovery, nervous system regulation, and resilience. Everything I offer — from breathwork and cold exposure, to barefoot running, pain recovery, and trauma-informed recovery— is built on lived experience, professional training, and years of disciplined practice.
The Wim Hof Method became a powerful turning point in my own recovery, not because it was a quick fix, but because it taught me how to work with my nervous system instead of against it. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to studying breathwork, stress physiology, movement mechanics, performance training, and pain adaptation — integrating these elements into a cohesive, practical system.
I work with:
-
Athletes seeking performance and recovery gains.
-
Veterans and first responders navigating stress and trauma.
-
Runners improving form and reducing injury.
-
Individuals recovering from injury and chronic pain.
-
People rebuilding after mental health challenges or addiction.
I’ve coached everyone from young children to clients in their 80s. What changes is not the principles, it’s the approach.
Join me on my mission to show the world what's possible with a ‘broken body’, and take your first steps into the world of breath, ice, and unlocking the potential you never knew you had.
